Spencer James has been working in the media for nearly 30 years, and has been broadcasting for over two decades. In that time he has been the programming controller for the UK’s first bi-lingual student radio station, Production & Promotions Manager for one of Spain’s biggest English radio networks, drive time and breakfast host on stations in the south east of the UK, as well as hosting Airplay40. His passion for the media started originally in television, where he became a first assistant director for a couple of short films, one of which was BAFTA nominated. It was whilst at university however he truly became involved in radio broadcasting. Starting as a presenter, he worked up the ranks to become the Programme Manager for 2 years whilst also attaining a degree in Film & Television at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. In 2003 he started working as a presenter for one of the major radio groups in the South East of the UK, working throughout the schedule from drive time to breakfast show presenter. In the spring of 2008, Spencer hit upon the idea of a chart show for radio stations broadcasting to expatriates, and from that The eXpat Chart was born. Thanks for stopping by. I’m Sandy Kaye. A freelance broadcaster, journalist and producer who has spent more than 35 years on both sides of radio and television microphones. I’ve worked with every TV network in Australia, have produced and presented for countless radio stations around the country and have hosted my own commercial radio talk-back show. I’ve even held the distinction of being Sydney’s first female newsreader on radio – way back when! Today my passion is A Breath of Fresh Air which allows me to immerse myself in one of my favourite things – music. I just love all kinds of music and am fascinated by the people who make it.  In particular, t’s the music of the 60’s 70’s and 80’s that takes me back to my youth and means most to me.   When it comes to Smooth Jazz, Iain’s been a fan right back to the early 60’s and has always wanted to present a music show, but it wasn’t till 2021 that he decided to do something about it…with the encouragement of his 3 sons who bought him his first studio… The Chill & Thrill Show has been Featured on Jazz Juice radio in the UK, Waveney Valley radio in the UK and has now made its way across the pond into St Catherines… Iain loves researching and airing independent Smooth Jazz Artists, and his weekly show podcast on MIXCLOUD attracts listeners from all over the world. He grew up in The North East of England listening to Radio Caroline & Luxembourg and started collecting music in the mid 60’s , the bulk of it now in Digital format and he is still collecting music and is unlikely to ever stop! Iain’s pet hate is presenters talking over the brilliant music!! Iain enjoys putting the show together and has sections in the show to provide variety and changes in tempo.
